Christmas Market and Lights Switch On - Saturday 2 December 2017

The Market opened at 9am on the Market Place, in front of Selby Abbey.  There were lots of stalls to choose from including crafts and gifts as well as refreshments.  On stage we had local school choirs, bands and lots more to entertain people. Campeys of Selby had provided a flat bed lorry to use as a stage and the town council thanks them for their support.

Thanks to Michael Stewart Menswear and Day Lewis Pharmacy for providing sponsorship funding towards the Christmas Lights this year.

The Mayor switched on the lights at 4pm on the Market Place with the Garforth Brass Band playing carols. The Mayor then switched on the Market Cross Christmas Tree lights and then the Town Hall to the Tree of Lights. Ben Ofeudu from Phats and Small accompanied the Mayor switching on the lights.

The Dancing Turkeys came along once again as well as Santa.

Minster FM were in attendance for the day to provide lots of entertainment, games and goody bags.  It was a fabulous day with lots of people in attendance and the Town Council thank everyone for coming along to support this annual event.
