Wistow Road Play Area

Councillors met with local residents and children to consult them on what they wanted for the refurbished play area. Below are pictures showing the play area prior to the refurbishment.

Refurbishment was completed and officially opened in July 2013.  Wooden equipment was installed, benches and bins, the older equipment painted and repaired and the play area is loved by all.  Families go there in the nice weather for a picnic.

September 2014 saw two pieces of adult gym equipment added to the Play Area on Wistow Road, now all the family can enjoy the fun.  The funding for this equipment was given by Eggborough Power Station.  On Monday 1 December the launch and opening of the Adult Gym equipment took place.  Selby Town Councillor Mrs Mary Fagan cut the ribbon with Peter Murphy, Groundwork.  Local residents had a go on the equipment.

In February 2018 a new Inclusive Swing and Frame were installed at the play area. Additional infrastructure was also installed to allow disabled people to gain access to the swing should they be in a wheelchair.  A photograph is below of the new equipment provided by Sutcliffe Play from Section 106 Funding.
