Selby Town Council is the local authority for the town of Selby and is committed to working with partners and residents to make Selby a vibrant market town.
The Town Council have 6 electoral seats for West, North and South Selby, 18 Councillors in total. There are currently 16 Councillors appointed. The next Election is due to take place on the 7 May 2015. The Mayor for 2014/15 is Councillor Rosie Corrigan. The Town Council have 12 staff including office, grounds maintenance and caretaking/cleaning staff. The Town Council office is based at the Town Hall on the junction of Gowthorpe, Brook Street and Leeds Road. Office opening hours are 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday. There are parking spaces available at the Town Hall.
The Town Council are responsible for the Town Hall, Selby Cemetery, 3 allotments, 3 play areas, Longmann Hills Farmhouse and Selby Market. The Town Council also manage the Community Centre on Scott Road and the Community Woodland on Bondgate.
